Keep Albany Boring sums up the recent news about Ravens Head Brewing, rather nicely.
As much as it may pain those involved to admit it, the cost of rehabilitating St. Joseph’s Church, the cost of maintaining the Church and the cost of “making it work”, a.k.a providing parking for patrons, reducing odors and noise on the surrounding very residential neighborhood, and finding a way to truck in food and supplies on one-way narrow city streets without a loading and unloading area were tremendous hurdles to this project.
While the opposition of the neighborhood certainly did not help, the plan was doomed from conception. The Armory is a much better fit for Ravens Head’s proposal and hopefully will be a place were they can succeed.
St. Joseph’s is simply not an ideal location for a large commercial venture heavily dependent on customers and exporting goods.
